Good Experience

Submitted on Mar 31, 2019

Do NOT go to this trail unprepared! I went for the first time in the afternoon and at the end of my data cycle, so I couldn't download their app (no paper maps, they're on the app). It took me about 20 minutes to get lost down a level 4 trail. It laughed at my 05 Rubicon on 35s with a 6 inch Teraflex lift. The only reason I made it out, was I happened to run into a group of rock crawlers that was on a night ride. They guided me out, but it was a rough ride in my daily driver against dedicated trail toys. If you decide to go (and I highly advise that you do because I still had a blast) make sure you go in the morning, have a tree saver and a snatch block, and have the ability to download the app. Ideally, I recommend you have 37s at minimum (to ensure that your differentials clear the rocks) and that you bring a friend or two approximately equal to your off road capability.

GREAT Park

This park is a well maintained system of trails and camp grounds for anything from a hammock to an RV. Anybody can have fun here, but be careful. Make sure you only attempt the trails for your vehicle rating AND make sure you have good recovery gear and some other vehicles in your group. Things can get very bad very quickly. I BROKE my axle at the TOP of the mountain. It took a little creativity and engineering to get my Jeep rolling again (got to love those c clips) and a lot of patience to get back to the bottom of the mountain to the trailer. I would recommend this park for a day or for the weekend, depending on how much tiime you have.
